The Opera Hall will open to guests 30 minutes before the ceremony, so please plan to arrive around 4:00 PM. We recommend arriving a little early to allow time for parking and getting settled before the ceremony begins.
The Opera Hall does not have dedicated parking.
Parking options include:
Free street parking throughout downtown
The public parking lot directly across the street from the venue
The nearby Bank of America parking lot (commonly used by locals during off-hours)
Because our wedding falls on Halloween, downtown Sonora will host its annual Trick-or-Treat event from 4:00–5:30 PM, which may make parking more limited than usual. If you're driving in for the day, we recommend arriving downtown a little earlier than planned.
If you have time before the ceremony, The Armory, located right next door to the venue, is a great place to grab a drink and relax before festivities begin.
Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will take place at The Opera Hall in downtown Sonora. Once you arrive, you can relax and enjoy the evening without needing to travel between venues.
If you're staying overnight, The Sonora Inn is a great option—it's just two flat, walkable blocks from the venue.
Chicken Ranch Casino Resort is another excellent choice, located about an 8-minute drive from The Opera Hall.
Transportation services in Sonora are limited. Uber and Lyft are available but can be unreliable, especially later in the evening.
If you'll need a ride, we recommend arranging transportation in advance or using one of the local cab companies:
Courtesy Cab: (209) 533-2227
Frontier Cab: (209) 288-2900
You can schedule a ride ahead of time or call about an hour before you need one, though wait times are possible.
Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors at The Opera Hall.
No! Masks are completely optional. However, you're welcome to wear one if you'd like to embrace the masquerade theme.
Only if they are listed on your invitation. Due to the nature of the event, we've had to limit the number of children attending.
We know Halloween is such a special and exciting holiday for kids, and we truly appreciate your understanding. To help make the weekend fun for families, we've included a list of Halloween activities happening on Friday and Saturday morning on our Things to Do page.
We'll also have a fun activity table at the reception for the children attending, but please note that childcare will not be provided, and parents are responsible for supervising their children throughout the evening.
Yes! We'll have an open bar featuring beer, wine, champagne, seltzers, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.
Your presence is truly the greatest gift, and we are so grateful to celebrate this special day with the people we love. No gifts are expected or required.
If you would like to honor us with a gift, we have created a honeymoon fund to help us make unforgettable memories as we begin this next chapter together. After many wonderful years together, we've already filled our home with most of the things we need, so experiences mean the world to us.
Of course, if you have a special or sentimental gift in mind, we would be honored to receive it as well. Thank you for celebrating with us—we can't wait to share this unforgettable day with you!
